SPECIAL EVENTS

Pickaparty often does specialty drops for limited items such as: Mickey Family, Labubus, pendants, rare Sonny Angels etc. Here is some information to make things clearer for the day!

When/where are the events?

Specialty item events start at 2pm every Saturday at our store location: 12723 Wardman St. Whittier CA, 90602. We will post about events that are happening (or if they are postponed) on the Pickaparty TikTok/ Instagram accounts.

Sometimes we do drops during the week also, so check our socials for updates!

What items do you drop?

The exact items that require a ticket will be announced on our socials before each event. But, you can usually expect: Mickey Family, Labubus: Macaron, Have a Seat, Fall in Wild. Halloween, Mokoko, Let's Checkmate, Good Luck to You and a lot more!

How do tickets work?

To get a specialty item you will need a ticket, which we start giving about an hour before the drop. You can come inside an ask our staff for a ticket. We give one ticket per person and you have to be present to receive one.

Tickets guarantee your place in line, so if you would like to go grab a coffee and come back - you can! We start calling out numbers (last two digits) at the drop time. If you miss the call for your number you will have to get a new ticket and get back in line. We will call you multiple times so that you have a fair chance to make it in time. You must hand in your ticket at the checkout to buy a specialty item - so keep it safe!

How many of each item can I get?

Usually, tickets are valid for one specialty item each but this can change depending on inventory stock/ number of people in line. If customers are able to get more that one item per ticket, we will always let you know at the start of the event.

Do tickets guarantee specialty items?

No, the ticket system mainly is designed to keep your place in line, to make things orderly and to make it fair for attendees. We cannot guarantee that we will have items in stock by the time it is your turn. We do, however, try our best to give regular updates to people in line about our stock levels, so that you can monitor availability.

Are there items for trade?

Before each event we open one of each of the specialty items ourselves which can be used as trades for customers. If you open your blind box in the store, you have the option to switch with the current trade. (Once you leave the store we can no longer offer this service).

If you would like to find a trade partner inside the store from people who have a ticket, you are welcome to do so - however, Pickaparty cannot guarantee the authenticity of items once outside of the store.

Can I shop the store during the event?

If you wanted to browse/ purchase something from our toy store that's not the specialty item, please feel free to skip the line and come inside. You do not need a ticket to buy: blind bags, regular Sonny Angels, plush toys, ponchos etc. Come up to the counter to complete payment when you are ready - just ask!

Are your items authentic?

Yes! We can always guarantee that our specialty items are authentic, come in original packaging and have verifiable scan codes - (as well as everything else in our store.)

Do you own the stores next door?

'Newlin House' is owned by Carla's older sister Erika and 'Pixel That' is owned by her younger sister Wendy! After your place in line has been secured by a ticket, feel free to browse their stores as they have wonderful things to see!

  • Erika has a large collection of vintage goodies, pantry items, kitchenware etc. During Pickaparty events she sometimes holds a pop-up featuring her famous hand-made baked goods & coffee! Grab a snack!
  • Wendy has a lot of collectible items including Pokémon cards, keychains and 3D printed toys. She also has in store her customizable clothing line - where you can get booty shorts, sweats, tops and hats!

Do you have parking spaces?

Pickaparty has 1 designated parking spot directly outside the store and customers are free to use this space during opening hours. The parking next to our space is reserved for out neighboring stores: Pixel That and Newlin House - we ask if you can keep this clear if you are shopping at Pickaparty.

In our plaza there is also a market which has 2 designated parking spots that can only be used if you are shopping at the market. These spaces have tow-away signs if not used correctly.

At the end of the plaza is one space for accessible parking, which can be used for any store including Pickaparty.

Some residential spaces nearby are liable to be towed, so be careful. We recommend using the parking lot that is on the corner or Wardman and Pickering.

Additional Notes:

  • We would please ask customers in line not to block doors for neighboring businesses so that people can freely come and go.
  • If you lose your ticket, you will have to get another one and get back in line.
  • If your number hasn't been called we please ask you to stay outside so that the store is not overly crowded.
  • You cannot get a ticket on behalf of someone who is not present at the store.
  • Please be mindful of trash if opening items outside - trash can be disposed of inside the store.
